This service provides technical assistance, draft applications, local research initiatives, reports and other specialized projects to component districts. Other services include in-depth assistance in planning and preparation of competitive grant proposals including:

  • Assessment of needs and potential eligibility
  • Facilitation of team planning/consortium development
  • Assistance in preparation/writing of competitive grants
  • Assistance in the preparation and submission of allocation grants

OHM BOCES Receives Grant
Governor Pataki's office announced that Oneida Herkimer Madison BOCES is one of 31 organizations to be awarded the Tobacco Free Schools Support Program grant. OHM BOCES will receive $125,000 for each of four years to develop and implement effective policies that promote and maintain tobacco-free schools, school grounds and events by schools, including school activities that are held after school hours and by community groups. OHM BOCES will partner with districts and community agencies to evaluate, guide, and develop effective policies; develop community awareness campaigns; integrate students as active planning members; and implement alternatives to suspension for students that violate established no smoking policies.
