Exam Information and Course Descriptions


Earth Science Regents Exam

All students taking the Earth Science Regents Exam MUST take the Earth Science Performance Test. A student who does not take the performance test will not be allowed, under any circumstance, to take the regents. This is a new NYSED mandate.

Those students who are only taking the Walk-in Regents will have to take the performance test on Tuesday, August 16, 2011, at Proctor High School.

Please follow the schedule below (based on the first letter of student's last name) 
A – G.......12:00 to 12:45 p.m.
H – M.......12:45 to 1:30 p.m.
N – T........1:30 to 2:15 p.m.
U – Z........2:15 to 3:00 p.m.


Living Environment

---Labs are not offered---

  • Living Environment
    For those students taking Living Environment in one year. Regents exam will be given.

  • Living Environment 1
    Ecology and ecosystems, biomes, effects of pollution, classifications, reproduction, evolution. No Regents exam.

  • Living Environment 2
    Body systems, genetics, evolution, nutrition, drugs, alcohol, etc. Followed by a Regents exam.


Participation in Government
All students enrolled in Participation in Government must be in the 11th or 12th grade. Also, a project will be required. No Regents exam.


Mathematics
  • Applied Algebra 1
    A review of fractions, decimals, percents and integers, number theory, basic operations with monomials and polynomials, solving multi-step equations, ratio and proportion, graphing linear equations, and problem-solving techniques. No Regents exam.
  • Applied Algebra 2
    Review of Applied Algebra 1, basic operations with radicals, solving multi-step equations, solving systems of equations both linear and quadratic, factoring, graphing both linear and quadratic equations, trigonometry, probability, statistics and problem-solving techniques. Followed by the Integrated Algebra Regents exam.
  • Algebra
    Number theory, basic operations with monomials, polynomials and radicals, solving multi-step equations, solving systems of equations both linear and quadratic, factoring, ratio and proportion, graphing both linear and quadratic equations, trigonometry, probability, statistics, and problem-solving techniques. Followed by the Integrated Algebra Regents exam.
  • Intermediate Algebra
    Algebra topics such as factoring, exponents, radicals, operations with algebraic fractions, quadratic/absolute value/radical/fractional equations, inequalities, complex fractions, parabolas, operations in the complex system, and systems of equations. No Regents exam.
  • Applied Geometry
    Fundamental principles of geometry. Basic terms of geometry, parallel and perpendicular lines, properties and relationships of triangles and quadrilaterals, an introduction to trigonometry, transformations and properties of a circle. Geometric proofs will be incorporated within each unit. No Regents exam.
  • Geometry
    Integrating synthetic, transformational and coordinate approaches to geometry, students will justify geometric relationships and properties of geometric figures. Congruence and similarity of triangles will be established using appropriate theorems, establish and verify geometric relationships, properties of transformations, triangles, quadrilaterals, and circles. Followed by a Geometry Regents exam.
  • Trigonometry and Algebra 2
    The families of functions to be studied will include polynomial, absolute value, radical, trigonometric, exponential, and logarithmic functions.
